Fall Movies 2016

The leaves have changed, the mornings are cold, and summer blockbuster season is over. Sad times, but we can take solace in warm blankets, fire places, hot popcorn and fall movies. Comedies, and action movies become fewer and the focus shifts moviesto dramas, adventure and sci fi (gotta win those Oscars). Here is a look at some of the movies I am looking forward to until the end of the year.

October 7th
The Girl On The Train

This is one I wish wasn’t coming out until later because the book has been on my list to read and I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hopefully it is adapted as well as Gone Girl was back in 2014. (Still can’t look at women the same way ;p)

A divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life.

October 14th
The Accountant

Ben Affleck as a genius entangled with the mob, ok I’m intrigued. Guess he couldn’t just let his buddy Matt be the genius. How ’bout dem apples! (sorry couldn’t resist)

As a math savant uncooks the books for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his activities and the body count starts to rise.

October 21st
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

This is one of the ones I am most excited for. I enjoy these books, and although Tom Cruise looks nothing like the physically imposing character he is portraying, he owns the role and makes you believe he is Jack Reacher. Tom Cruise, forget the haters, keep making awesome action movies!

Jack Reacher must uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy in order to clear his name. On the run as a fugitive from the law, Reacher uncovers a potential secret from his past that could change his life forever.

October 28
Inferno

I liked these books, and the movies have been a lot of fun. Tom Hanks really brings the character to life.

When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, and together they must race across Europe against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.

November 4th
Bleed For This

When I heard Milles Teller was playing a boxer, I didn’t believe it. I had to look it up, and the funny part was I saw him on a talk show talking about he didn’t believe it either when he was offered the part. The man is showing us that he is truly a chameleon and an amazing actor (Whiplash – so good!). He looks great in the footage shown in the trailer. I love boxing movies and am really looking forward to seeing this story in particular come to life on the big screen.

The inspirational story of World Champion Boxer Vinny Pazienza who, after a near fatal car crash, which left him not knowing if he’d ever walk again, made one of sport’s most incredible comebacks.

Doctor Strange

I’m intrigued to see how they bring the sorcerer supreme to life and make him believable and still fit within the other marvel super hero movies. Benedict Cumberbatch is amazing, and so the movie will probably be great.

A neurosurgeon with a destroyed career sets out to repair his hands only to find himself protecting the world from inter-dimensional threats.

November 11
Arrival

I told you there was going to be sci-fi… (but you created the list before you wrote the opening paragraph)… don’t be so smart, just enjoy the trailer below. Actually this movie sounds pretty cool.

A linguist is recruited by the military to assist in translating alien communications.

November 18
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

I am fan of the Harry Potter books. I grew up reading them, but I don’t care about this movie. I will definitely see it at some point, but it is not on my most anticipated list. Why is it here then you may ask? Well, If your making a list of anticipated movies and you don’t put one connected to the Harry Potter universe on it there will be an uproar! So with that in mind, enjoy all you muggles!

The adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.

December 16
Rogue One

Normally I am not a fan of prequels because you already know what is going to happen, but hey… it’s star wars. Bet they won’t get the plans for the construction of the Death Star, sorry Freedom Orb! Oh wait they have to…(P.S. the main character probably dies…)

The Rebellion makes a risky move to steal the plans to the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow.

The Space Between Us

This is an interesting sounding story, similar to October Rush and that was a beautiful movie, so I am open minded for this one.

The first human born on Mars travels to Earth for the first time, experiencing the wonders of the planet through fresh eyes. He embarks on an adventure with a street smart girl to discover how he came to be.

Collateral Beauty

I love the idea behind this movie, that sometimes the most beautiful moments come out of our most tragic. I love Will Smith, and this movie seems moving and thought provoking, so I am definitely in.

When a successful New York advertising executive (Will Smith) experiences a deep personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely, his colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief in a surprising and profoundly human way.

December 21
Passengers

Chris Prat and Jennifer Lawrence stuck in space, enough said haha. This trailer makes this look intense.

A spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people has a malfunction in its sleep chambers. As a result, two passengers are awakened 90 years early.

Assassin’s Creed

I want this to be good. I hope that it is good. I am not convinced that it is going to be. What do you guys think?

When Callum Lynch explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, he discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society.
